You can now add producer to Jay-Z's resume... no no no... not music producer... musical producer! He has joined forces with Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith in producing the musical Fela!. The play is based on the life of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, one of the credited founders of afrobeat. Jay has contributed an undisclosed amount of money to the production which is already in preview... & will be making a red carpet appearance alongside Will & Jada next Monday here in New York opening night.Fela! is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning star Bill T. Jones, and music for the show has been arranged by the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra.
